I (Abbie) grew up at a ranch running 200-300 head of mostly crossbred market ewes.  As a teenager I raised purebred Southdowns for 4H, which I handed down to my sister. Patrick really had no experience around sheep until he married me.  In 2002, we were married and decided to buy some purebred North Country Cheviot ewe lambs outside of Myrtle Creek, OR.  We now have 40 breeding ewes and 3 breeding rams.  We have sold most of our ewes and ram lambs to commercial breeders looking to cross them for their qualities.  We also sell them to other purebred ranches.  The ram lambs are used to breed ewe lambs, and the ewes have great mothering qualities.  Our sheep are low maintenance, and great wool and meat producers.
